The Light of Reiki and the healing of our spirits is so needed at this time in our communites, our nations and our world.  Reiki helps rekindle our Inner Light, so we may in turn rekindle others' Lights, comfort and serve, and be encouraged to take right action at this critical juncture in our personal evolution, and the evolution of our planet.  Reiki is a natural hands-on healing method using the hands of a healer to channel God’s loving energy to another person. Laying-on of hands is an ancient technique that has been used for thousands of years around the world in all spiritual traditions. Reiki comes from two Japanese words: Rei and Ki which mean spiritually-guided life energy, or universal life force guided by Spirit.  Reiki guides itself with its own wisdom, rather than requiring the direction of the practitioner. This universal life force is called various names in different parts of the world: Spirit or God’s love (in the Western world), prana (India),qi or chi (China), ki (Japan).  All types of spiritual healing help to bring a person’s body, mind and spirit back in to balance, and all healing comes from God, regardless of the particular name given to the healing form.  All spiritual healing must touch the spirit of a person to bring about a true healing, for that is where all imbalance arises.  Reiki is not intended to be a cure, but does assist the body’s natural ability to heal itself.  Reiki energy can also be given to animals, plants, our beloved planet, difficult situations, and much more.  One experiences a Reiki healing in different ways: a sense of perfect peace and calmness, comfort, nurturance, warm, tingling, release of pain, loving energy flowing throughout the body, and a feeling that all will be well.

Reiki healing is also helpful for those who are ready to return Home, making the Transition back to Spirit.  It calms the soul, as well as all who are in the room.  It can and does relieve pain, comforts, soothes and brings a sense of peace to those receiving the loving touch.

The origin of Reiki: The healing energy now known as Reiki has been in the world for thousands of years, then was lost.  Dr. Mikao Usui, the man who brought Reiki back to the world, spent a good deal of time meditating at power spots on holy Mt. Kurama.  There is a small waterfall on Mt. Kurama where even today people go to meditate.  It is said that if one stands under this waterfall, letting it flow over the top of the head, the crown chakra will become activated.  Japanese Reiki Masters believe that Dr. Usui may have used this meditation as part of his practice.  During a 21-day retreat, to fast and meditate, chant and pray, he suddenly felt the great Reiki energy enter the crown chakra at the top of his head, when the symbols were given to him which lead to the Reiki healing system.

After a Reiki attunement to become a Reiki healer, one experiences a more efficient flow of healing energy, like turning on a car and driving.  One must learn meditations, prepare to use one’s energy, etc. with many other forms, but with Reiki, after attunements, you only need to think Reiki, place your hands on yourself or another being (or send the energy), have pure intention to heal, and the Light Switch turns on the energy flow!  The energy comes from the Divine Source of all Love through the top of the head, down through the heart, then out the arms/hands/fingers (feet, eyes and mouth breath can also be used).  Reiki is a tool that can be used at any moment, any time, anywhere for on-the-spot stress release, calming/centering, pain relief, quick energy.

The Effects of Reiki:
  • Cleanses body toxins
  • Adjusts the strength of its flow to the being who is receiving.
  • Offers treatment for both practitioner and recipient.
  • The initiation/attunement process is a transformational tool for you, the practitioner. You will be opened like a flower reaching to the sun!
  • Supports the body’s natural ability to heal itself
  • Vitalizes body/mind/Spirit
  • Induces a state of total relaxation
  • Re-establishes spiritual and mental balance
  • Relieves physical pain
  • Works on all energy planes
  • Removes energy blocks, clears energy channels

Reiki has been used to help heal every known illness and injury, including serious problems: multiple sclerosis, heart disease, cancer, skin problems, headaches, colds, sore throats, flu, cuts, bruises, broken bones, sunburn, fatigue, insomnia, impotence and more.  It is always helpful and works to improve the effectiveness of all other types of therapy!

The Different Levels of Attunements:

A normal person’s energy is about 40 watt light bulb; after 1st degree=75 watt; 2nd degree = 100 watt; 3rd degree = 150 watt, and upward the more the healer offers Reiki.

  • 1st degree: Shoden: a permanent attunement to the Reiki Ray.  Once you’re initiated, you are always a channel for the Reiki energy for Self and others.  Simply place hands on and open your heart to love and the energy will come.  You can also simply think “Reiki!"

  • 2nd degree: Okoden (Inner Teaching): This degree requires further initiations for attunement to the symbols used in this level.  The student is trained to use 2nd Degree symbols which provide an increase of power from the Reiki Rays for absent healing and mental and emotional healing.

  • 3rd degree Shinpiden (Mystery Teaching): This is the level of Reiki Master.  The student is attuned to the full Reiki Ray with more symbols, and if guided, follows the path of the Teacher, which requires further training.
